Privacy Policy

SwipeTrades ("we", "us") is a barter marketplace app that lets people trade products and services with others nearby. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, display name, and optional profile photo, provided when you sign up (by email or Google sign-in).
• Listings — photos, titles, descriptions, and categories of what you offer to trade.
• Location — the approximate location you attach to a listing and your chosen trade radius, used to show nearby trades and distances. Your exact location is never shown to other users; they see only approximate distance.
• Activity — swipes, matches, messages, trade confirmations, ratings, and reports, which make the core features work.
• Device permissions — camera and photo library access are used only when you add photos; location access only when you set a listing location. All are optional at the operating-system level.

How we use it

• To run the service: showing listings to nearby traders, creating matches, delivering messages, and computing distances.
• To send notifications you have enabled — for example an email when someone likes your listing, matches with you, or messages you. You can turn these off any time in Profile → Notifications.
• To keep the community safe: processing reports, enforcing blocks, and moderating content.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (our database, authentication, and file-storage provider) and transactional email is delivered by Twilio SendGrid. Both act as processors on our behalf. All data is encrypted in transit.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not show your exact coordinates to other users.

What other users can see

Your display name, profile photo, listings (including their photos and approximate distance), your trade count and ratings, and — once you match with someone — the messages you send them.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account), which permanently removes your profile, listings, matches, messages, and swipes. You can also request deletion at swipetradeapp.com/delete-account.

Children

SwipeTrades is intended for users 18 and older.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note the new date above.
